Then this part-time, on-site job is for you! We are Voxel Magic is conveniently located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. We cater to creative New Yorkers who have a 3D vision to express: students, small businesses, and large industrial clients. We’ve enjoyed extraordinary growth and have earned the trust of clients such as Hershey, Bank of America, IBM, Harper Collins, Warner Brothers, Coca-Cola, BASF, Pepsi, Fortnite, NBC, MoMA, National Geographic, Smithsonian Institute, NYU, and Loyola University.
We also offer advice on how to best approach 3D Print jobs, as well as full-service consulting on how to integrate 3D printing into the innovation cycle. If a client’s CAD file needs work, we can adjust it, or design it from scratch.
Skill Requirements:
CAD: Advanced Knowledge (2+ years) of any one of the major CAD packages: Rhino, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360 (Bonus if you know: Cura, Simplify3d or NetFabb).
Client Relations:
- Answer client and vendor inquiries
- Explain our process to client prospects Identify and address issues with part design/CAD files
- Generate and send job quotes to clients
- Setup meetings and phone sessions
- Take notes during meetings
- You will learn 3D Printing
- We run FDM, DMSLA Printers and medium-format FDM printers
- Run equipment in a production environment
- Make models (requires good motor skills and attention to detail)
- Prepare STL files for 3D print
- Monitor and ensure optimal printer progress Remove parts from printer pads
- Perform post-print part cleaning and finishing
- Clean and maintain 3D printers Ensure materials inventory remains current
- Unbox and organize raw materials
Part-Time, Flexible Hours (Onsite) 10 – 20 hrs. per week 3 – 5 days per week
Pay is $20/hour as a 1099 freelancer. Minimum 3-month commitment. US work authorization is required.
